THE STORY
Circumstances
First Police Sergeant Daniel Hättich and a 25-year-old colleague were involved in an accident on the evening of December 7, 2025, while driving their patrol car on the L156 between Titisee and Neustadt.
The officers were traveling on the country road from Titisee toward Neustadt when, for reasons unknown at this time, their vehicle veered off the road to the left in a curve. The patrol car subsequently overturned and collided with a tree. Daniel succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, while his passenger was seriously injured but is not in critical condition.
Daniel is survived by his wife and two children.
