THE STORY
Circumstances of death
On 06/05/1924, Sergeant John Murrin and his colleague Thomas Griffin were investigating a shooting that had occurred the day before. After identifying the suspects, Griffin and Murrin went to a house in nearby Killonerry. Upon their arrival and without warning, both officers were shot and seriously injured. Garda Murrin died of his wounds on October 19, 1924.
