He was driving from Durango to Bilbao with two companions, after participating in the procedures to obtain the National Identity Document (DNI) for the city's residents. The vehicle in which they were traveling was fired upon with a machine gun. All three officers were killed. The ETA terrorists fled in a stolen car. |
