Fábio Guerra was punched and kicked in the head as he lay on the ground during a disturbance outside a nightclub on Avenida 24 de Julho in Lisbon in the early hours of Saturday morning. He and other off-duty officers intervened in a dispute between two groups outside the nightclub. They were attacked in the process. Three other officers escaped with bruises.
